Ah....the wonderful world of the Spanish language. What a joy it is to finally develop a conversational knowledge of this festive language. The thrill of speaking to someone in Spanish and actually understanding them and them understanding you! A large proportion of the world speaks this beautiful language and learning it can open up new possibilities.
Short of flying to Puerto Rico or Columbia or Spain you can get quite good training in this language on line. This is a reasonable way to go for most people. You can even join the many and abundant Spanish speaking communities on line and practice the new words and phrases that you have been studying.

Finding a good Spanish class on line is essential. You want to get the pronunciation right too. Often it is difficult to read a foreign word and know how to say it but this comes with practice and a little knowledge. Ideally some sort of interactional software or game can help a lot. Another idea is to learn a few Spanish language songs, and have the words translated into English which makes it easier to absorb certain phrases.
A friend of mine was learning Spanish and she committed to learning and understanding 10 new words a day. This took her about an hour a day. Within a few months she was doing quite well, and felt she could even at that early stage, get by on her knowledge. The key to this approach of course, is not forgetting yesterdays words, so practicing is also a priority.
