The initial phase of CNA training involves classroom training. In classroom training, an individual attends classes that include First Aid, medical terminology, nursing fundamentals and other medical courses. All these terminologies help the person to work effectively in the work environment. The second phase is the clinical phase, wherein you need to perform practical work.

On successfully completing both the practical and theoretical requirements, you need to qualify for the state nursing aide department test. This test has two parts. The first part tests your education and the second part tests skills learnt by you in the course. After this, you need to contact your registry of nurse aid by mail or phone.

You will need to inquire about the forms needed to obtain the license. You will also have to submit your medical checkup certificate. For passing the national and state criminal background check, you need to fill the fingerprint card and submit it to the local public safety department.

After you get your certified nursing assistant license, you can start working in healthcare facilities, such as hospitals. You may get your license in about eight weeks. In this way, you can obtain your license.
