Alaska is looking for qualified, skilled, nurse aides due to a shortage in the state. People who would like to be part a medical team in Alaska, must follow rules and regulations implemented by Alaska States Board of Nursing. The Alaska Board of Nursing or the Department of Commerce, Community and Economic Development has set regulations to carry out the laws to qualify applicants.

Requirements to work as a CNA in Alaska

Successful completion of state - approved training Pass both written and skill CNA State Exam Applicants must submit fingerprint cards. Licenses/certificates and temporary permits will not be issued without the results of a state and federal background check

Training program criteria in Alaska

According to Alaska Board of Nursing, CNA programs must consist of at least 140 hours includes a minimum of 60 hours of classroom and 80 hours of clinical training. Some state-approved training programs may differ when it comes to number of hours in classroom and practical training.

Applying for Reciprocity in Alaska

If an approved CNA moves to Alaska from their home state, you must show proof of successful completion from that state - approved training program, proof that you are have no violations and proof of passing the CNA state exam
