The CNA Training Program Overview

CNA Training Regulations will Be different depending on which you state you are trying to become certified in. The Federal Government Mandates that each and every CNA Student be trained at a minimum of 75 hours of classroom Lecture, skills and Clinical time. These three portions of the training will be the backbone of any certification program.

The clinical rotation of the CNA training program will be off campus in a Specialized Nursing Facility. This is where new certified nursing assistants can actually get hands on experience with their patients, while also under watchful supervision of an attending Nurse.

CNA CLASSES

In order to enter a CNA Training Program the candidate must obtain a complete back ground check. In addition to the background check there will also usually be a mandatory physical exam and performance compliance ability exam. These background checks and health checks are very important not only for the patients safety, but for yours as well.

Plan to learn a vast amount of new skills as a certified nursing assistant. You will be required to efficiently perform each one of them, practicing safe, and effective techniques. Make sure to pay careful attention to sanitary techniques, and also proper lifting techniques.

The different classes used in each CNA program is going to vary in each state. However there is some core material that will almost always be in every class such as taking, recording, and interpreting vital signs, CPR, Basic Anatomy and patient grooming, safety, and legal rights. All of these classes will be pivotal to your success as a certified nursing Assistant.

CNA Training can be found in community colleges, private nursing facilities, and sometimes hospitals. Usually the program will last anywhere from 2-6 months depending on which state requirements you are dealing with. Faster Is not always better, becoming a CNA is a process that simply should not be rushed.

Many schools will actually offer a larger amount of hours than the federal or state requires. These schools know the value of CNA in our community. These CNA are going to be the ones taking care of our parents, grandparents and family members. It is of the utmost importance that their care is handled correctly.

The pricing of your schooling is usually not effected by the length, it has to do with the quality of the CNA training center. There is often times free CNA training programs in some communities that can help people pay for their school or at least help with the cost.

Once you have completed course you will be expected to pass the CNA certification course. This exam will test you in Skills and knowledge, and will effectively show what you have and havent learned. Come prepared, and know your material. After passing this testing, you will then be certified as a Nursing assistant and added to your states nursing aide registry.
