In exchange for the free CNA training, the newly passed CNA is mandated to complete a certain number of work hours without pay. This free service to the senior home usually takes one year to complete. If by chance, you do not complete the required hours of free service you may be asked to pay back the partial or full cost of your training at the senior home.

Another way to get free CNA training is through scholarship grants given out by the state's health department for students who are in need of financial assistance.
