CNA Test

What is it? Before you can become a Certified Nursing Assistant you will need to take a CNA test. The test is made of two parts: practical part and written part. When you are preparing for the CNA test, remember to cover in the best possible way the following areas:

1. In order to pass a CNA Test you need to know medical terminology. So keep in mind to learn general medical terminology and use medical dictionaries, textbook and your personal notes to expand your knowledge in this area.

2. Knowing Sciences is a key to a successful test passing. That's why you need to review biology, chemistry and anatomy. Be sure to remember what functions of different organs are and correct names for human body parts.

3. You must know how to perform CPR and other emergency procedures. Different emergency situations can be handled in different ways according to preset medical procedures and you need to know what and when to do in order to pass the CNA test.

4. Of course you must know how to care for a patient. Patients are different in their needs and condition and you need to know how to take care of each type of them. So make sure you know how to turn, groom, bath and dress a patient. Learn how to recognize patient's health problems based on their behavior and respond accordingly.

5. Knowing how to take Measurements and Vital Sings is extremely important. You need to learn how to accurately take a pulse, blood pressure, a temperature, and height and weight measurements. You even can practice on your family members or friends.

6. Other important things to know are Patient Privacy Considerations, Infection Control and Safety Measures. Learn how and keep in mind to wash you hands, wear masks and gloves. Do not leave your patient without his/her curtains pulled and remember to put up guard rails on their beds.

CNA test is not a big challenge if are getting prepared carefully and diligently and developing your CNA skills. Study hard and don't get nervous. Cover all the areas mentioned above and you will pass it for sure!
